Wards

  • Cardinia Shire is now divided into 9 wards, with each ward represented by one councillor. You can check your ward and councillor online
  • You can view the new ward map here.
  • All wards, the councillor that represents each ward, and the suburbs and townships included in each ward are listed below.
  • This change in ward boundaries came into effect at the Council elections in October 2020, following a review of council electoral structures by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC). The new ward boundaries ensure each councillor represents roughly the same number of voters.
  1. Go to the Community Compass tool at www.cardinia.pozi.com
  2. Click in the field with the magnifying glass.
  3. Depending on what you're searching, choose 'address', 'property number' or 'parcel SPI number'.
  4. Start typing in the address/property number/SPI number, wait for it to appear in the drop down menu then select it.
  5. Scroll down to the 'Wards and councillors' tab and select it (tap directly on the arrow > on a mobile device) to see the ward and councillor who represents that ward.

  • Under the new Local Government Act which came into effect on 6 April 2020, 10 councils in Victoria (including Cardinia Shire) changed their electoral structure for the 2020 council elections held in October, following a representation review by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC).
  • As a result, Cardinia Shire is now comprised of 9 single-councillor wards. For information on this process, read the Cardinia Shire Council representation review report on the VEC website
