Wandering livestock

Please note we are still picking up wandering dogs and cats, and attending to reports about wandering animals.

If you own livestock it is your responsibility as the owner to make sure they are contained. Wandering stock can cause serious injury to people and damage private property.

If you see livestock wandering on a road or public space please report it straight away to us by calling 1300 787 624

For any other concerns about livestock, you can report an issue about animals online.

Call us on 1300 787 624 between 8.30am and 5pm to discuss missing livestock.

Livestock that have been impounded by a Council officer are held in our livestock pound for 7 days.

If the animals are not claimed within this time we have the right to dispose of them under the Impounding of Livestock Act 1994
