This permit is white with blue print and is for permit holders (driver/passenger) who require the use of additional space to use an ambulatory aid (wheelchair, walking frame or calliper crutches).

Disabled bays are extra wide so that these appliances can be manoeuvred easily between parking bays.

Vehicles must be parked in a reserved disabled motorist's bay for the specified time only, or park in any ordinary area or bay for twice the specified time (payment of any initial parking fee is still required).

This a white permit with green print and is for when permit holders require extra time to:

  • complete tasks
  • provide them with time for rest breaks
  • generally take their time without over exerting themselves.

Category two permit holders are not permitted to park in disabled parking bays, however you can park a vehicle in any ordinary area or bay for twice the specified time (payment of any initial parking fee is still required).

Once you have a permit:

  • display it on the left side of the front windscreen, so that the permit number and expiry date can be seen from outside the vehicle
  • the driver must provide their name and address and produce their driver's licence and permit when requested by police or an authorised officer
  • you can use it  in other states.

Call us on 1300 787 624 to cancel your permit.

Permits are cancelled automatically on their expiry date. Penalties may apply if permits are misused.
