Apply for a permit to place a shipping container

You need to apply for a permit to temporarily place a shipping container on either a residential property or public land.

The shipping container must be entirely stored on a private residential property and not obstructing a footpath, nature strip and/or public land. Fines apply.

  • Location sketch and photo must be provided showing where the container will be stored on the property
  • Certificate of Currency of Public Liability (minimum coverage $20 million) must be provided for containers stored on public land.

The application fee will not be refunded if your application is not approved.
