Volunteering in Cardinia Shire

If you are a member of our community looking to help out in a volunteer role we can help find a volunteer position for you.

Search for a volunteer role

If your not-for-profit organisation is looking for support from Cardinia Shire's many willing volunteers then post an opportunity in our database. It is a free service to not-for-profit organisations that operate within the shire or that service Cardinia Shire residents.

We offer a volunteer training program each term, which is provided by local neighbourhood houses, community centres and Universities of the Third Age (U3A) at a subsidised rate (conditions apply).

The following courses will be available throughout the year:

  • food handling
  • basic bookkeeping
  • first aid and CPR
  • various computer courses.

For details of available programs and fees and to apply for a subsidised place, please contact the relevant training provider directly.

More than 500 volunteer organisations work to make Cardinia Shire a great place to live, so during National Volunteer Week (May each year), we celebrate our volunteers through a volunteer reception at Cardinia Cultural Centre.

Invitations are sent to volunteer and not-for-profit groups each year inviting two representatives from their organisation to attend.

Make sure your organisation receives an invitation to the event by confirming your contact details are correct in our online community directory.
