Winter Teenage School Holiday Program 2025

About the program

  • Our Teenage School Holiday program is open to young people aged 12 to 17 years.
  • Activities are held across Cardinia Shire during the school holidays. Most activities are low cost or free.
  • If transport is a barrier to your participation, please contact Cardinia Youth Services to discuss.
  • Bookings for all activities are essential. Please book using the online form.

My Place Youth Facility is open for reduced hours during school holidays, from 1pm to 5pm.

Week 1 activities

Tuesday 8 July – Tiny Art

Cost: Free
Location: My Place, 5–7 Main St, Pakenham
Time: 1.30 – 3.30pm
What to bring: This activity can get messy, please wear old clothes. Aprons and gloves will be provided for this activity. 
Afternoon snacks: Water and snacks will be provided.
Added Information:

  • You can also submit your Tiny Artwork into the Pakenham Library’s Tiny Art Expo for a chance to win a prize.
  • Your artwork will be on display at Pakenham Library, Cnr John St and Henry St, from 21 July 2025 to 18 August 2025 and winners will be announced on 25 August 2025. 
  • All Artwork and prizes will need to be collected by 26 September 2025.

Wednesday 9 July – Ten Pin Bowling 

Cost: $20
Location: Oz Tenpin, 14/22 Lauderdale Road, Narre Warren
Time: 11.30am – 2.30pm
What to bring: Comfortable clothing, socks, a friendly competitive spirit. A packed lunch or money to purchase additional food or drinks. 
What about lunch: Hot chips and cordial will be provided (by the bowling alley).
Added Information:

  • Transport will be provided for this activity. Please be at My Place Youth Centre by 10.45am – Departure will be at 11am sharp.  
  • Return to My Place Youth Centre will be at 3pm (approximately and dependant on traffic).

Friday 11 July – BMX JAM  

Cost: Free
Location: Beaconsfield Upper BMX Track, 36 Stoney Creek Road, Upper Beaconsfield  
Time: 12pm – 2pm
What to bring: BMX/bike helmet and safety gear and a friendly competitive attitude.
What about lunch: Snacks and water will be provided, bring along your own packed lunch to keep your energy levels up.
Added Information:

  • This event is being run by the YMCA and proudly sponsored by Cardinia Shire Council.
  • Complete the online form now to register to attend this event.
  • This event starts at 12pm. Please arrive 10 minutes earlier to be ready for when the fun begins.
  • There are lots of prizes and give aways up for grabs throughout the day.

Week 2 activities

Tuesday 15 July – Winter Warmer Cooking 

Cost: $5
Location:  My Place, 5–7 Main St, Pakenham
Time: 1.30 – 3.30pm
What to bring: Sensible clothes, you don’t mind getting messy in. Closed toed shoes as you will be prepping and cooking your own food. A container for any leftovers.
What will be provided: Eat what you make.
Added Information:

  • Aprons and gloves will be provided for this activity.
  • Long hair must be tied back.

Wednesday 16 July – Nerd Wars on the Dart Side of the Moon Youth Event

Cost: Free
Location: St Marks Hall, 1 Church Street, Emerald
Time:  11am – 3pm
What to bring: A sense of fun, sensible shoes and warm clothing.
What will be provided: Lunch will be provided.
Added Information:

Friday 18 July – Movie, pizza, Popcorn and PJ's Afternoon  

Cost: $5
Location:  My Place, 5–7 Main St, Pakenham
Time: 1.30 – 3.30pm
What to bring: Wear your favourite Pj’s, Oodie, or comfy clothes and a chilled and relaxed mood.
What will be provided: Classic pizza, popcorn and Milo will be served for lunch.
Added Information:

  • This is a chilled afternoon, so make sure you're comfy and ready to kick-back, relax, enjoy some yummy food and a good movie with your mates.
  • Movie will be rated PG.

  • If you’ve already submitted the annual consent form for 2025, you don’t need to submit it again until 2026.
