Waste reduction workshops

  • Learn how to reduce your waste, save money and help our environment at these free workshops.
  • The workshops are presented in partnership with Casey Cardinia Libraries
  • Cardinia Shire residents can save on new waste reduction systems with our waste reduction rebates

Our waste collections contractor, Cleanaway, will be at these shopping centres to answer all your bin and waste questions, so drop in anytime! Don't forget to complete our short quiz for a chance to win a prize!

Stop by our display while you're checking out the immersive experience 'Creature' at Cardinia Cultural Centre in Pakenham. 'Creature' is an art installation about the environment and our relationship with it.

Are you looking at ways to reduce your single-use plastic? Beeswax wraps are a natural, low-impact and reusable alternative to using plastic cling wrap in your kitchen or lunchbox. In this workshop, you'll learn how to make your own beeswax wrap and get tips for reducing your waste.

Join Cardinia Shire Council and Open Table to learn how to reduce your food waste and save money on groceries, plus get lots of delicious ideas on how to use leftover food. 
Enjoy a live demonstration on cooking 'veggie scrap fritters', and get a taste test! You'll be given the recipe to take home to continue your zero food waste journey.
One lucky participant will win a zero waste cooking door prize on the day.
