Waste reduction workshops

  • Learn how to reduce your waste, save money and help our environment at these free workshops.
  • The workshops are presented in partnership with Casey Cardinia Libraries
  • Cardinia Shire residents can save on new waste reduction systems with our waste reduction rebates

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, our June face-to-face composting workshops have been cancelled. Instead, we're hosting a single online session - details below. 
 

Thursday 3 June 2021 - Online event 

Discover the benefits of composting, worm farms and digesters and how they can help you reduce your household waste. Learn how to choose the best system for your household and how to get started.

As part of Plastic Free July, we're focusing on reusable alternatives to everyday household items. This workshop is perfect for those starting out on their zero‐waste journey or just looking to reduce their waste at home.

In these interactive cooking demonstrations, participants will: 

  • learn about the impact of food waste on the environment
  • get valuable tips and tricks on meal planning and proper food storage
  • learn how to make a no-waste recipe, using foods that are often thrown away.
