Health emergencies

In Victoria the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is the lead agency for all health-related emergencies. They provide information on what the community need to do in the event of a significant health emergency.

We work with and support DHHS and health agencies in the reponse and recovery phases of these emergencies.

The Chief Health Officer is responsible for informing Victorians about issues that pose potential impacts to public health and safety.

See current alerts and warnings from the Chief Health Officer.

We encourage residents to adopt strategies to reduce the spread of disease.

Visit the Health Vic website for more information about infectious disease.
