Services at MyPlace

Rooms at My Place can be hired for youth-focused meetings, delivery of service or programs.

We visit schools, host and attend local youth events and run after school and holiday programs in rural towns in Cardinia Shire. We can also transport young people to and from our rural after school programs from neighbouring towns using our 10 seater passenger vehicle.

We offer a free youth support service to young people (12–24 years) who live, work or go to school in the Cardinia Shire.

The program can help young people who:

  • feel anxious, stressed or ‘down’
  • have difficulties with friends, family or is being bullied
  • need to deal with anger and aggression, grief and loss
  • need information and/or support to access other services (like drugs and alcohol support, Centrelink and legal advice)
  • want to make new friends and have fun through our programs and activities
  • want to talk about their sexuality or relationships
  • have problems at home
  • feel their life is out of control
  • just need someone to talk to

The service is free, confidential and offers young people information, advice and practical support (short- and medium-term). The program is flexible, accessible to all young people and is respectful of race, gender, sexuality or religion.

Concerned teachers and family members can also seek information, advice and referrals.

Appointments can be held at My Place, school or wherever you are most comfortable in your local area. Call us to make an appointment.

The 2018 youth forum survey is now open for young people aged 12-24 years.

The 2015 youth forum survey had over 2,000 responses from young people (12-24 years) in 2015. The survey asked young people about issues they experienced, what was important and what opportunities young people would like in their local area. The results will be used to plan and advocate for future services, programs and activities.
