Works are now well underway to resurface the Monash and Princes freeways as part of Stage 2 of the Monash Freeway Upgrade.

Major intersection and road upgrades in Officer

  • Officer South Road – construction of dual carriageways between Hickson Road to south of Freeway bridge.
  • Officer South Road – construction of new freeway ramps (inbound and outbound) to create new freeway interchange.
  • Rix Road – reconstruction of north side of Rix Road between Officer South Road and Campanella Avenue.
  • New traffic light intersections at the following locations:
    • Officer South Road – Rix Road – Bridge Road 
    • Officer South Road – Flanagan Avenue
    • Princes Freeway exit ramp
    • Princes Freeway entry ramp

Works, closures and disruptions 

Stage 3 road construction works - February 2022 to July 2022

  • Reconstruction of Officer South Road (south of Rix Road) and Flanagan Avenue
  • Officer South Road to remain closed until end of July 2022 when these works will be complete.
  • Intersection of Flanagan and Officer South Road to be closed for construction of the signalised intersection – detour via Campanella Avenue

Road improvement works are taking place at the entrance of the Emerald Netball Club located at Pepi’s Land on Beaconsfield Emerald Road, as part of Pepi’s land upgrades.

  • The road works will improve access to the facility
  • Widening of Beaconsfield Emerald Road
  • Inclusion of a right-turn lane and left-turn slip lane into the entrance of the new pavilion.
  • These works are expected to be completed in 2022.
