What happens if you don't pay your rates
In accordance with the Penalty Interest Rate Act 1983, you must pay each rates instalment by its due date to avoid being charged interest of 10% per year. Legal action may also be taken to recover unpaid rates, and could mean you end up paying additional costs.

A new payment plan must be made for each financial year.
