Keeping excess animals
There are restrictions on the number of animals you can keep on a property, in accordance with Local Law 17.
If you have more that 2 dogs and/or 2 cats on your property you need to apply for an excess animal permit.

The following are not counted: any large bird or poultry less than 12 weeks old, any dog or cat that is less than 3 months old. The Cardinia Shire Planning Scheme may also impact your right to keep and use animals on land.
$80.20 (no GST). This is an annual fee.
Renewing your permit
Renewals are due by 10 April each year.
Due to the Bunyip State Park bushfires, the date for renewals has been extended to Friday 10 May 2019.
