Disposal of uncollected goods from Council property in Caldermeade
Expired 5pm, Wednesday 18 June 2025
Cardinia Shire Council (Council), acting under Part 4.2 Disposal of Uncollected Goods of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012, and in accordance with Council’s policies, proposes to sell by private treaty, a collection of miscellaneous goods, chattels, plant, equipment, and personal property, which remain uncollected from Council property in Caldermeade.
The uncollected goods include, but are not limited to: tools, paint, mattress and furniture, gardening supplies, and incidental personal and other effects.
All goods are in very poor condition. They have been stored in an open shed for a number of years and are weathered and soiled.
Terms and conditions
The following terms and conditions apply to the sale of these uncollected goods:
- Price: Being in excess of the $200 minimum reserve for the entire collection.
- Other conditions of sale:
- Submitted bid is for all items shown within the shedding (excluding the sheds).
- All amounts owed to Council are paid in full prior to collection.
- All items are collected from the Council-owned property in Caldermeade on a date between the 23–27 June 2025 and as agreed to with Council.
In accordance with Section 60 of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012 (Vic), Council is inviting private bids (Submissions) on this proposal.
Any person wishing to make a bid (Bidder) must do so no later than 5pm on Wednesday the 18 June 2025.
Submissions
Submissions can be made in writing by:

Submissions should include:
- The Bidder’s full name, current postal address, email address, and phone number.
- The dollar amount ($) being offered, understanding payment will be expected prior to collection of items.
- Agreement that the Bidder will be responsible for taking all items listed.
- Agreement to collect the items on a date between the 23–27 June 2025, if successful.
All submissions will be considered in accordance with Section 60 of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012 (Vic).
What happens next?
Following consideration of any and all submissions, Council will decide to sell the uncollected goods, or to dispose of the uncollected goods by other means, pursuant to provisions outlined in Part 4.1 of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012.
Should Council successfully dispose of the uncollected goods by private sale it will:
- contact the successful Bidder to advise and arrange payment and collection of the goods.
- retain an amount not exceeding the disposal costs from the proceeds of sale (if any) of the goods.
- create a record of the sale, within 7 days of a sale, pursuant to Section 74 of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012.
- deal with any outstanding balance equal to or greater than $20 after deduction of such costs in accordance with requirements set out in Part 3, Division 1 of the Unclaimed Money Act 2008.
Any person submitting a bid for purchase is advised that personal information provided in their submission may be included in the record of sale, should their bid be successful, and will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012, the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 and Council’s policies.
Unsuccessful Bidders will not be contacted by Council regarding the outcome of the proposed sale.

Tree Pruning for power line clearance
Expired Thursday 31 October 2024
Cardinia Shire Council has engaged contractors to inspect and prune street trees growing around powerlines to ensure branches do not impact power supply.
All vegetation clearance work must be carried out in compliance with the Electrical Safety Act 1998 which stipulates the minimum safe clearance between trees and powerlines to keep regrowth clear.
Council is responsible for managing powerline clearance in its declared areas of Pakenham, Beaconsfield and Emerald. Information and maps showing Council’s declared areas can be found in Council’s Electrical Line Clearance Management Plan (ELCMP) which is available on Council’s website
Tree Pruning will occur in September and October 2024. Works will be audited and will be compliant with Council’s ELCMP.

Declaring part of May Road, Beaconsfield and vesting to Council
Expired 5pm, Monday 3 June 2024
Cardinia Shire Council (Council), acting under section 11 Road Management Act 2004 proposes to declare part of May Road, Beaconsfield, being 4665m2 of land as shown in the attached plan, as a ‘road’ within the meaning of the Road Management Act 2004 (the Act), by publication of a notice in the Victoria Government Gazette.
The section of May Road, Beaconsfield is privately owned. The land owners’ have agreed for Council to vest and transfer the land, pursuant to section 11(1) of the Act, allowing Council to secure public rights of way over the Road and for the future development of the area, transferring the management and responsibility of the road to Council. Notification has been completed in line with section 11 of the Act 2004.
Part of the currently unsealed section of road will also be upgraded by developers to support an approved neighbouring housing development, with construction scheduled to commence in June-July 2024.

Proposed discontinuance of part of Lecky Road, Officer South
Expired Tuesday 26 March 2024
Cardinia Shire Council (Council), acting under section 206 and Schedule 10 Clause 3 of the Local Government Act 1989 proposes to discontinue a section of Lecky Road, Officer South to the West of Cardinia Road, Officer South, as shown on the plan available at www.cardinia.vic.gov.au/publicnotices.
If discontinued, the land will revert to the Crown for use as a drainage path, and the discontinued section of road to the East will be renamed ‘Nancie Road’.
In accordance with section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989, Council is inviting submissions on this proposal. Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing no later than Tuesday 26 March 2024. Submissions may be mailed to:
