Building better local roads in Officer

Published: 19 October 2022

Construction is underway in Officer on Timbertop and Pink Hill Boulevards.

The intersection upgrade works are part of Cardinia Shire Council’s Better Local Roads program and are outlined in the Officer Precinct Structure Plan.

To support the increasing community and traffic in and around the Timbertop Estate, these works are being undertaken to improve the flow of traffic and commuter, cyclist and pedestrian safety and access around the intersection and Orchard Park Primary School.

The upgrade works will include the installation of signals at the existing intersection, the installation of dedicated bike lane along Timbertop Blvd, the construction of a new left-hand turning lane from Timbertop Boulevard and the extension of the existing right turn lane in Pink Hill Boulevard.

For the right-turn lane extension on Pink Hill Blvd to be completed and accessed safely, the median crossing at Barnsley Road will be permanently closed as part of the works.

The works are expected to be completed in early 2023, conditions permitting.
