Have your say on the draft Emerald Lake Precinct Masterplan

Published: 4 July 2022

Cardinia Shire Council is encouraging the community to have their say on proposed draft Emerald Lake Precinct Masterplan.

The draft masterplan for the precinct is now available for feedback on Council’s online community engagement platform Creating Cardinia.

The draft masterplan has been developed in line with Council’s vision for Emerald Lake Precinct as set out in the Emerald Lake Precinct Strategic Plan 2020 – 2030 which was adopted in 2020.

The Emerald Lake Precinct comprises of Emerald Lake Park and Nobelius Heritage Park.

Major upgrades and changes include:

  • An upgrade of the existing play space which includes the removal of the wading pool which will be replaced by zero depth waterplay
  • New shelters and picnic areas throughout the precinct
  • Amphitheatre upgrades
  • Improvements in Nobelius Heritage Park
  • Path network and signage upgrades.

The delivery of the masterplan will be staged over a ten-year period and will require external funding contributions.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Jeff Springfield said he was pleased to see the draft masterplan now available for public feedback.

“This feedback is vital for us in this redevelopment process, so I encourage everyone to jump online and submit their feedback on the draft masterplan,” Cr Springfield said.

“We want to know how the community uses the precinct and what their priorities for improvements are. We want to hear from everyone.

“These improvements will make Emerald Lake Precinct an even better place to visit. This will not only be welcome news for our local community but also for the many tourists we attract to this beautiful spot each and every year.”

Community consultation closes on 25 August 2022.
