Free family fun for Earth Day

Published: 8 April 2022

Join Cardinia Shire Council at Deep Creek Reserve for a day of free family fun for Earth Day 2022.

From 10am to 2pm on Friday 22 April 2022 families can partake in sustainable games and challenges as they explore the Deep Creek area and learn how to live a more sustainable life.

A range of free activities will be available, including planting a seedling, seeing a waste truck up close, learning how bins are collected and what can go in each one, meeting amazing earth worms up close and learning how they eat food scraps, and taking part in solar science to learn about the power of the sun!

“Council is proud to provide environmental education to the community,” said Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Jeff Springfield.

“Families can join in on Earth Day activities and learn how to reduce waste, save energy and promote native habitats in their local community. This will be a good opportunity for kids to get their hands dirty and learn more about their natural environment.”
