Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Brett Owen said nominating someone for an Australia Day Award was an excellent way to acknowledge their contribution.
“If you know an outstanding person or event in our shire area, then we want to hear from you,” Cr Owen said.
“Our Australia Day Awards recognise and honour the outstanding achievements of our citizens and community events.
“We have four categories including Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Event of the Year so I encourage you to jump online and get your nominations in.”
