Register now for the 2021 Volunteer Reception and Stan Henwood presentation!

Published: 3 May 2021

Registrations for the 2021 Volunteer Reception and Stan Henwood presentation are now open.

The event celebrates National Volunteer Week (17-23 May) and honours the late Stan Henwood OAM for his lifetime contribution to the Tynong community and the municipality.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Brett Owen encouraged residents to register for the event which acknowledges the generous contribution of our shire's volunteers.

“This celebration is a fantastic opportunity to recognise the invaluable work our residents do to improve our community. Without them, Cardinia Shire would not be the exceptional place that it is today,” Cr Owen said.

“The evening will also include the official announcement of the Stan Henwood Award nominees and 2021 winner. This award is held in high esteem in our shire and awarded to a member of our community who upholds Stan Henwood’s positive influence and contributions within the municipality.”

The event will also feature musical performances by Meg Doherty and guest speakers Cardinia Shire 2021 Citizen of the Year Chris Rogers and 2020 Stan Henwood award winner Ken Rook. The late Stan Henwood’s family will also be in attendance to present this year’s award.

Due to COVID regulations numbers are strictly limited to two members per community group. This year, to comply with regulations, a sit down two course meal will be provided - so registrations are a must!
