Published: 3 September 2020

Cardinia Shire Council has welcomed the announcement of $990,000 from the Victorian Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund towards construction of a section of the Princes Highway Trail.

The project will see a section of the trail from Fairweather Parade to Heatherbrae Recreation Reserve in Officer constructed with a sealed, dual-use cycling and walking path.

The new trail section will provide the fast-growing local community with improved access to facilities, and provide a new option for outdoor activity such as walking and cycling.

Once completed, the final shared-use trail will link from Beaconsfield to Racecourse Road in Pakenham.

Cardinia Shire Council has committed a matching contribution of $990,000 to the Officer section project in its 2020-21 budget. Planning is underway with construction expected to commence by the end of 2020, pending COVID-19 restrictions.
