Unseasonal weather plays havoc with unsealed roads
Council has recently received a number of enquiries relating to the condition of its unsealed road network.
Melbourne is experiencing an unusual and extended dry-spell which makes the management and maintenance of unsealed roads challenging. Warmer weather dries the unsealed road pavement, causing corrugations and other defects.
We have been monitoring the shire’s unsealed roads and, when necessary, using contractors to ensure the affected roads are safe and compliant. We will continue to manage and maintain our unsealed road network amid the challenges until regular rainfall stabilises the road pavements.
