Community Wetland Planting Day at Cardinia Lakes

Published: 7 June 2019

Cardinia Shire residents are invited to take part in a community wetland planting day at Cardinia Lakes on Saturday June 15.

The wetland discovery day, which is run by Council’s Environment and Heritage team and the  Cardinia Lakes Residents Group, provides community members the opportunity to learn about the wetland systems and the many critters that call it home such as the endangered Growling Grass Frog.

Participants can also discover water bugs of the wetlands with Melbourne Water, participate in water sampling and plant a wetland plant.

The community wetland planting day will take place on Saturday 15 June from 10am to 12.30pm at Cook Springs Reserve, Windermere Boulevard, Cardinia Lakes.

A barbecue lunch will be provided for volunteers. RSVPs are not required.

Participants are encouraged to dress for all weather conditions and bring sturdy shoes, gloves and a water bottle.

For more information, phone the Environment and Heritage team on 1300 787 624.
