3MDR request for new premises
Cardinia Shire Council has always been supportive of 3MDR operating in the shire.
In fact, Council helped negotiate a relocation of the station to their current broadcasting location in Emerald Hall. At the time, the radio station was without a home and Council wanted to ensure the radio station could continue to operate.
Through our annual grants program, we help community groups, organisations and other non-profit agencies to develop projects, activities, and services that contribute to the wellbeing and quality of life of those who live and work in Cardinia Shire. However, Council is not responsible for finding or funding premises for community groups, organisations and other non-profit agencies to operate within the shire.
With regards to a new broadcasting location for 3MDR, Council has been and is always willing to engage with 3MDR to explore opportunities when existing Council facilities are upgraded and new ones planned. As such, 3MDR have been identified as a key stakeholder in the Hills Hub redevelopment and have participated in the Advisory Group for the past twelve months.
Council will continue to support 3MDR and acknowledges the fantastic service provided to the local hills community.
