Parking infringements issued at NAB Challenge match

Published: 29 February 2016

Cardinia Shire Council patrolled streets around Holm Park Recreation Reserve before and during the NAB Challenge match on Saturday 27 February.

Parking officers wanted to ensure residents were not excessively inconvenienced by the additional traffic in the area. In most cases, officers successful ‘moved on’ vehicles before they parked illegally or obstructed traffic, therefore issued fewer infringements.

Over the course of the event, Council issued 18 on-the-spot infringements for parking on nature strips, obstructing footpaths or parking in the reserve. A further four infringements will be issued by mail.

Council took a common-sense approach to parking for the day and only issued infringements for blatant breaches of the road rules and parking restrictions.

Overall, Council thanks the crowds for considering alternative transport options and observing the parking requirements. This was a fantastic result considering the 6300 people who attended.
