First Business Breakfast for 2018 – Wednesday 23 May

Published: 9 May 2018

Local business operators will be inspired to be adventurous at the first Casey Cardinia business breakfast for 2018 on Wednesday 23 May.

From 6.45–9am at Cranbourne Racing Centre in Cranbourne, attendees will enjoy a delicious breakfast, network and learn from special guest speaker, professional endurance athlete Samantha Gash.

Starting out in corporate law, Samantha could not have known how different her life would be only a few years later when she would become the world’s youngest and first female endurance athlete to complete the 250km ultra-marathon known as the ‘Four Deserts Grand Slam’.

Since then, Samantha has channelled her talent for running to raise funds and awareness for causes that help vulnerable women around the world. This passion lead her to collaborate with UK runner Mimi Anderson in 2014, together running South Africa’s Freedom Trail and raising $55,000 on behalf of Save the Children to support an initiative increasing access to feminine hygiene products and providing education on the importance of attending school for South African girls.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Cr Collin Ross said Samantha’s enthusiasm for tackling personal, physical, mental and social challenges would be a great start to the Casey Cardinia business breakfasts for 2018

“Samantha presents with a refreshing burst of optimism, passion and determination, and her personal story is sure to inspire attendees to push through their perceived limitations toward growth and achievement,” Cr Ross said.

“The business breakfasts will benefit local business owners as well as businesses from outside our region, with the opportunity to network, re-connect with like-minded people, and learn from successful, knowledgeable and inspirational guest speakers.”

Cardinia Shire Council, City of Casey, Melbourne Football Club and Federation University proudly host the Casey Cardinia business breakfast series, which involves three events across the Casey and Cardinia municipalities throughout the year.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are $60+GST each and are available online at www.trybooking.com/357212. The cost includes a cooked breakfast, tea and coffee.
