Applications now open for 2026 Cardinia Community Leadership Program
Cardinia Shire’s emerging and aspiring leaders are encouraged to apply for the 2026 Cardinia Community Leadership Program (CCLP), with applications now open.
Fully funded by Cardinia Shire Council, the annual program supports community members to build their leadership capabilities, deepen their understanding of local issues and provides opportunities to connect with other leaders across the Shire.
Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Brett Owen says the program offers a valuable development pathway for anyone looking to strengthen their leadership skills and make a positive impact in their community.
“The program is about empowering community members and giving them the knowledge and practical tools to lead effectively and make a positive impact in their workplaces, volunteer roles and everyday lives”, Mayor Owen said.
“I encourage anyone who is committed to making a difference in our community to apply.”
A sentiment echoed by program alumni and 2026 Cardinia Shire Citizen of the Year, Robb Evans.
“For anyone thinking of applying, I say go for it. Immerse yourself with likeminded people and you’ll get to know the needs of your community" he said.
Running from May to November, the program includes workshops, case study discussions, presentations and collaborative group activities. Sessions are held at various locations across Cardinia Shire, with in person participation required.
The program is open to Cardinia Shire residents.
Applications close at midnight on Sunday 29 March.
