Huxtable Road to be fully sealed in 2026
Upgrade works are now underway on Huxtable Road in Pakenham Upper.
As part of the Strategic Sealed Roads program, Cardinia Shire Council is sealing the full 3.3km length of Huxtable Road.
Works include:
- Spray sealing and road pavement construction
- Drainage improvements
- Installation of signage and line marking
Council has appointed a contractor to deliver these works, which are expected to be complete by June 2026, weather and site conditions permitting.
Sealing local roads delivers important benefits for the community including:
- improving road safety and driving conditions
- better, safer access to emergency services
- reduced road maintenance costs
- improved environment outcomes through reducing dust and better drainage
- enhanced amenity and liveability
- Stronger connectivity across the local road network
To maintain community safety and access during construction, traffic management will be in place. While Council will work to minimise disruptions, residents may experience temporary increases in noise, traffic, dust and lighting.
A temporary road closure, allowing access for local traffic only, is expected for the duration of construction to ensure works can be completed safely. Further details will be provided as the project progresses.
Detours will be in place to redirect traffic, and access to all properties will be maintained throughout the works. Delays are expected, so please plan ahead when travelling in the area.
Council acknowledges that infrastructure upgrades cause disruption, and we appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we deliver these important improvements.
The Huxtable Road project is a Council delivered project, funded through the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery program.
