Council adopts O’Neil Road Recreation Reserve Masterplan
Cardinia Shire Council has adopted the updated O’Neil Road Recreation Reserve Masterplan, a long-term vision for the site to meet the sport and recreation needs of our growing community.
The reserve includes a dedicated cricket and football oval, a half-size court and an undercover play space and picnic area. The updated masterplan will guide the future development of these facilities to ensure they remain accessible, inclusive and fit for purpose.
Council engaged Simon Leisure Consulting Pty Ltd to review the original 2018 masterplan and prepare an updated draft. The review considered community feedback received during September this year and reflects the priorities and aspirations of the community.
Cardinia Shire Deputy Mayor, Cr Liz Roberts said the adoption of the masterplan is an important step in planning for the region’s recreational future.
“O’Neil Road Recreation Reserve is a much-loved space for local families and sporting clubs. This masterplan ensures the reserve continues to meet the needs of our community now and into the future.”
The updated plan provides a clear framework for future improvements, including opportunities to enhance sporting facilities, create more inclusive play spaces and improve amenities for community gatherings.
