Supporting those in need this Christmas

Christmas can be a wonderful time filled with family, friends, and festive cheer, but for many people, Christmas can be one of the most challenging and stressful times of the year.

Cardinia Shire Council is pleased to support Christmas Together 2025, a collaborative effort between The Salvation Army, Follow Bless Collective, and ADRA, to provide vital support to the local community during the festive season. 

Christmas Together provides food, gift hampers, and financial assistance to community members in need. The event will run for two weeks, from Thursday 11 December to Friday 19 December.  

Community members can register to receive support by completing the hamper registration form at bless.org.au/christmas registered community members can access their hampers from Thursday, 11 December to Monday 22 December (excluding weekends). More information about Christmas Together can be found at www.bless.org.au/christmas  

Cardinia Shire Council encourages the community to help support this initiative by donating non-perishable food and gifts for 0-16 years of age to Council Civic Centre, 20 Siding Avenue, Officer. Donations will be accepted from Wednesday 13 November to until Friday 5 December. 

Council is also collecting donations of non-perishable food and gifts at the Cardinia Shire Carols by Candlelight on Saturday 6 December. Residents are encouraged to bring a small donation to this free event to help spread Christmas cheer and support the community to ensure everyone has a jolly and joyful festive season.  

Council recognises the importance of coming together as a community to support those in need and is committed to ensuring the success of Christmas Together 2025 to create a meaningful impact in the lives of our residents.
