Celebrating Good Choices
Cardinia Shire Council proudly hosted the annual Good Choice Awards on Tuesday, 23 September.
This inspiring event celebrated young people aged 12-24 who exemplified resilience, kindness and strength in their decision-making throughout 2025.
The event brought together families, friends, educators, and community leaders, all united in their commitment to create a supportive environment for youth to thrive. The atmosphere was electric as attendees shared in the proud moments of local young achievers, showcasing their remarkable dedication, resilience and commitment to making positive choices.
The ceremony showcased the outstanding accomplishments of Cardinia Shire's youth, with 65 nominees recognised for their positive choices. These choices reflected a dedication to prioritising education, pursuing employment opportunities, making informed health decisions, and actively engaging in supportive networks. Each nominee received a certificate to recognise their hard work and commitment to making a positive difference in their own lives or the lives of others.
Cardinia Shire Mayor, Councillor Jack Kowarzik, expressed his admiration for the young people being honoured. "Witnessing so many young people in our community being celebrated for their positive choices is truly uplifting. We hope that by acknowledging and celebrating these achievements, we will inspire others to make similar commendable choices," said Mayor Kowarzik. "We are incredibly proud of the young people in our Shire. Their resilience and ability to navigate challenges with determination and grace is inspiring to see."
The Good Choice Awards highlight the importance of resilience, kindness, and informed decision-making in shaping a brighter future. As the event concluded, attendees left inspired and hopeful, with a renewed commitment to supporting the incredible potential of Cardinia's young people in the community.
