Get excited for Council’s new Recycling Drive and Drop event!

Residents can drop off their e-waste, polystyrene, soft plastics, textiles and excess cardboard for FREE at the upcoming Recycling Drive and Drop event!

Running over two days, all accepted items will be reused, repurposed or recycled. 

Hosted by Cardinia Shire Council with SCR group, the event aims to provide residents with a simple and sustainable option for recovering commonly hard to recycle items through a convenient drive-thru service. 

Event details  

When:

  • Saturday 5 July, 9am – 1pm 
  • Sunday 6 July, 9am – 1pm 

Where: Council depot (18A Purton Road, Pakenham) 

Accepted items 

  • e-waste (batteries, electrical devices, appliances and vapes) 
  • Polystyrene (packaging and produce boxes) 
  • soft plastics (plastic bags, bread bags, chip packets etc) 
  • textiles (good quality and end of life clothes, shoes, fabrics, towels, bed linen etc) 
  • excess cardboard 

Cardinia Shire Mayor, Councillor Jack Kowarzik encourages residents to get involved.  

“Accepting a range of items in the one place, this event is a quick and easy way to clear out some space in your home!”  

“It is exciting to know that these hard to recover items that sometimes get stored away at home will be reused or recycled.”  

This event is open to Cardinia Shire residents only. No bookings or registration required. Residents must present photo ID as proof of residence within Cardinia Shire to access the free service.  

Residents can drop off unlimited volumes of accepted items from residential vehicles and trailers; commercial business operators cannot use this service.
