Budding Musicians Apply Now for Cardinia Shire’s Music Residency Program 2024

Emerging musicians across Cardinia Shire are encouraged to apply now for the Music Residencies 2024 intake!

The 2024 Music Residencies program will give three local emerging musicians vital industry knowledge and experience to advance their individual careers.

Through a tailored program, delivered by Cardinia Arts and local industry whiz Daniel Kelaart, each musician will record a new song in Dan’s professional studio and partake in a series of professional development activities.

Participants in the 2024 program will:

  • record a song in the studio with Dan
  • have access to the Hills Hub arts apace throughout the residency period
  • attend ‘Music in the Hills’ three music workshops delivered in collaboration with Music Victoria, 3MDR and Burrinja, and
  • be given the opportunity to perform at Cardinia Cultural Centre.

All mentees will participate in three exciting professional development workshops delivered in collaboration with Music Victoria covering the following topics:

  • Marketing, branding, EPK and artist management
  • Radio, APRA
  • Gigs, funding

Once each mentorship has taken place, the team at Cardinia Arts will work with each musician to facilitate a paid gig at Cardinia Cultural Centre in Pakenham.

Eligibility

Applications are open to community leaders who are:

  • are at least 18 years of age
  • have a demonstrated connection to Cardinia Shire (e.g: resident, work, family, community group, performing etc.)
  • can attend all program sessions.
