Pre-release watch party for Olivia Mae debut music video

Published: 21 November 2023

Local singer-songwriter Olivia Mae will showcase the first single from her upcoming debut EP at a pre-release watch party on Wednesday 6 December 2023.

The music video for the single – Cruel Thing – will be screened ahead of the official single launch on Thursday 7 December 2023, one day before the single is released publicly.

Olivia received a Cardinia Arts Grant in 2023 and was a participant in the Cardinia Shire Music Residency mentorship program in 2022.

“Council is passionate about supporting emerging creatives. Both the Cardinia Shire Music Residency and the Cardinia Arts Grant programs aim to encourage local artists, helping them develop their skills and industry knowledge as well as providing financial assistance for initiatives that utilise, expand and promote the arts within Cardinia Shire,” said Ranges Ward Councillor Jeff Springfield.

“Congratulations to Olivia on her upcoming single release and debut EP. I encourage any aspiring artists in our community to attend the watch party to learn from and be inspired by Olivia’s journey,” said Cr Springfield.

The Cruel Thing pre-release watch party is on Wednesday 6 December 2023, 7pm to 8.30pm at Hills Hub in Emerald. Anyone interested is welcome to attend and will enjoy an acoustic original set by Olivia, view the pre-release music video and learn from an industry panel highlighting how young people can engage with Council and other local initiatives to develop their own creative projects.
