After school fun for young people

Published: 9 January 2023

Cardinia Shire Council has a wide range of group programs available to young people (12–24 years).

These group programs encourage young people in our community to connect with like-minded people of a similar age in a safe and supportive environment.

Council’s Youth Services team delivers these group programs every term of the school year. The Youth Services team has also introduced a brand-new group for young people aged 10 – 12 years. ‘Chillout Fridays’ is an activity-based after-school program designed to encourage young people to make new friends and learn life skills in a fun, safe and supportive environment.

Term 1 programs commence in February and include:

  • Be Ur Self: a weekly safe and inclusive LGBTIQA+ group for young people aged 12 – 17 years.
  • Catch Up: a weekly social and life skills group for young people aged 17 – 24 years.
  • Cardinia Pride: a fortnightly group for 17 – 24-year-olds who are passionate about creating change for the LGBTIQA+ community in Cardinia Shire.
  • Switch: a weekly fun, social group with a variety of activities each week for young people aged 12 – 17 years.

All groups have limited numbers, so book early to avoid disappointment!
