About
Emerald Lake Park has amphitheatres, 3 picnic shelters, a bandstand and many large open spaces for hire.
The park is a popular, picturesque setting for picnics, corporate events, performances, festivals, weddings and birthdays. We have a range of facilities to meet your needs.
Book a picnic shelter
Picnic shelters have two or three picnic table settings. Barbecues are located nearby and are available for all park visitors to use.
Boatshed picnic shelter
Located in the centre of the park, the Boatshed can accommodate up to 40 people and offers easy access to all facilities and activities. It offers views of the lake and Puffing Billy’s arrival.
Hire cost: $155 per day.
Lakeside picnic shelter
Set amongst the trees, the Lakeside shelter offers views across the lake. Suitable for groups up to 40 people, it is close to the carpark, outdoor pool, exercise equipment and playground.
Hire cost: $155 per day.
Poolside picnic shelter
Located above the outdoor pool near the playground and exercise equipment, Poolside is centrally located and accommodates up to 40 people. It's a great place for family gatherings.
Hire cost: $155 per day.
Bandstand
The Bandstand is a paved and covered hexagonal space with a 6-metre diameter performance area. It is located between the outdoor pool and cafe.
There is seating around half of the space, power access and it is close to toilets. Areas on either side of the bandstand can be used as open backstage or ‘tech’ spaces.
Lake Treganowan is the backdrop to performances held here for audiences that sit on the natural amphitheatre landscape.
The bandstand hosts music performances, weddings and group gatherings.

Amphitheatres
There are 3 amphitheatres (outdoor theatres) to hire.
Bunurong amphitheatre
Near Lake Nobelius, this 5-tiered grassed amphitheatre seats 150 people. It provides the possibility of ‘theatre in the round’ as it is near The Gums and Carl Stemp amphitheatres. It is secluded but in a convenient location, making it ideal for private parties.

Carl Stemp amphitheatre
An open, 4-tiered amphitheatre with a seating capacity of 120. Overlooks Lake Nobelius.
Hire cost: $137 per day
Gus Ryberg amphitheatre
The main amphitheatre and the largest, the Gus Ryberg seats 300 people. It is named after one of the original park rangers.
Located north of Lake Treganowan. Audiences enjoy a view of the lake during performances.
It has 7 grassed tiers and a paved arena, as well as power, water and easy access to toilets and barbecue facilities.
The amphitheatre is suitable for musical and drama performances, marriage ceremonies and cultural activities.

Other areas for hire
Arboretum
Hold your event among the well-established exotic trees in the Arboretum. Located north-west of Lake Treganowan, this area is like a traditional established European garden. This area has a mix of sloped and flatter grounds, which suit picnics or unique performances. Amenities are a short walk towards the Lakeside carpark.
Hire costs for this space are determined by the amount of area you need.
