Reconciliation Exhibition EOI

  • Cardinia Shire Council is seeking a suitable lead artist, curator or arts organisation to deliver a reconciliation themed exhibition.
  • This includes the curation of the exhibition and providing the artworks.
  • The exhibition will take place at Emerald's Hills Hub from Monday 22 May to Friday 23 June 2023.
  • Applications close Sunday 16 April at 11.59pm.

Hills Hub has a unique arts and performance space suitable for small to medium exhibitions with approximately 24 metres of hanging space. With two large round windows overlooking the hills, an intriguing roof design and state-of-the-art lighting, this modern space has a trendy aesthetic suitable to get creative energy flowing.

The Hills Hub arts and performance space has recently had a Sonos speaker system and Panasonic projector installed. Please specify in your application if you are interested in utilising this equipment for your exhibition.

With the exhibition spanning over Reconciliation Week, being Saturday 27 May to Saturday 3 June, Council also plans to hold a reconciliation event involving local primary schools on Tuesday 30 May from 1.30pm to 3pm.

Artists applying for this opportunity will also have the chance to take a leadership role on this day; whether it be touring students through the exhibition, holding an art workshop, educating on indigenous art, etc.

The selected lead artist/curator will have a total of $5,000 to deliver the project. Artists of a First Nations or Torres Strait Islander background are strongly encouraged to apply.
