Safe Steps Candlelight Vigil
The Safe Steps Candlelight Vigil is a community gathering in remembrance of all victims who have lost their lives to family violence.
This event will run for approximately 1 hour and will feature guest speakers, an opportunity for community members to write messages in remembrance of those who have passed, as well as messages of hope and support for those currently experiencing domestic and family violence. The event will conclude with a silent candlelit vigil.
The event provides an opportunity for the community to come together for a shared purpose, to raise awareness of the number of lives lost each year due to family violence, and to offer support. It also creates a safe space for individuals experiencing family violence (or those supporting someone who is experiencing or using family violence) to access information about available support services.
