Council welcomes you to attend a free online event recognising International Day of People with Disability, which will feature a presentation and Q&A session with Beau Vernon. International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is celebrated on 3 December as a United Nations observed day aimed at increasing public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability. In 2012, Beau became a quadriplegic after an on-field football accident. His tenacity, strength and courage has kept him focused to lead a fantastic life with disability. Beau now helps others deal with challenges and lives a great life no matter the circumstances. He aims to show people that having a disability is not a bad thing, it’s just a different way of living.
