Position description summary
Help needed at a rabbit rescue located in Cockatoo - around 15 minutes from Pakenham
(driving). Unfortunately there is no public transport available. All training is provided - no
experience is needed. There are plenty of jobs around the rabbits - handling, feeding,
cleaning but don't stress - if you're not an animal lover, we would just appreciate any help.
Ideally we need ongoing help but any help is appreciated! Ideally looking for someone who
can dedicate an hour or two a week to feed the rabbits. There are plenty of other options
available as well so please contact us. (bunny cuddles are an extra perk - and included in
all job descriptions)

Organisation
Bluey and Alice Bunny Refuge
Organisation description
We take in abandoned, neglected or otherwise unwanted bunnies. While at the refuge, our
buns learn to trust humans and eventually find their forever home. Often rabbits are used
purely for money making and are not cared for properly. Many become unwanted pets
because of their natural tendencies to spray, they also nip and thump when they are
scared. We make every effort to rehabilitate the bunnies while with us - realising that
humans bring treats, food, cuddles and aren't all that bad! With daily interaction the buns
realise that humans are not to be feared. Our intention is to have the buns desexed,
vaccinated and used to being handled. There are other family pets on the property so the
buns get used to being around different sights, sounds and smells. Once they are ready
for adoption we find them loving, forever homes.
