Description
Erect or spreading shrub with densely hairy stems.

Leaves
Dark green wedge-shaped leaves 3-16mm x 2-13mm, midrib ending in short point, rough above, paler with loose hairs below. Stipules tiny.
Flowers
Loose terminal clusters of pea flowers.

Bright orange

Growing conditions
Moist well drained soil in moist, occasionally dry, forests of mountain slopes. Moderately frost tolerant. Full sun to semi shade and dappled shade. Regenerates freely after fires.
Commonly used for
Small shrub with a brilliant spring display. Plant in groups. Pruning beneficial.
