- Description
- Trailing, scrambling or erect shrubs with hairless to densely velvety stems.
- Size (W x H)
- 1-1.5m x 0.3-1.5m
- Leaves
- Usually stalkless paired or scattered dark green broad to heart-shaped leathery leaves, 2.5-7cm x 1-2.5cm, network of veins, pointed tip may be prickly.
- Flowers
- 1-4 large pea flowers in leaf axils on long hairy stalks. Calyx hairy. Broad flat hairy pods with thin wing.
- Flower colour
- Yellow with red centres
- Flower time
- September to December
- Growing conditions
- Moist well drained soils in moist forests and woodlands. Frost tolerant. Full sun, semi shade and dappled shade.
- Commonly used for
- Bright flowers for a shady moist garden or bush area. Can scramble amongst other shrubs. Prune to control shape or size.
