Cardinia indigenous plant guide

Description: Gentle twiner with angled stems.
Size (W x H): Slender twiner to 3m high
Leaves: Very few narrow leaves to 45mm long.
Flowers: Sprays of small pea-like flowers displayed prominently.
Flower colour: Blue
Flower time: August to December.
Growing conditions: Well drained soils where roots have a cool root run, in woodland and open forests. Light frost. Dappled and semi shade.
Commonly used for: A beautiful creeper that suddenly 'appears' when in flower, but very difficult to propagate and establish.
