Erect or spreading shrub or small tree with waxy bark on young growth.

Broad, bright green sickle-shaped to curved foliage to 20cm x 10-50mm, often hanging. Single, central main vein, 1-2 glands, slightly raised, near the base of the leaf.

Masses of densely-flowered, scented ball-shaped flowerheads in axillary spikes. Thin flattish, slightly constricted pods 5-13cm x 5-7mm.

Reasonably well drained loamy soil in open forests and woodlands. Light to moderate frosts. Tolerate limited drought conditions. Best in full sun but will accept semi shade.
