Apply now for festival and event or community wellbeing and support grants

Published: 27 January 2021

Applications are now open for Cardinia Shire Council’s 2021-22 Festival and Event Grant Program and Community Wellbeing and Support Grant Program.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Brett Owen said Council contributes approximately $350,000 annually to help community groups and networks support the development of healthy, active and socially connected communities.

“Not-for-profit organisations deliver great services and provide excellent events within our community and we want to ensure they can continue to do their great work in line with COVID-19 restrictions.

I encourage eligible local not-for-profit organisations to apply for these grant programs,” Cr Owen said.

Festival and Event Grant Program

Festival and Events grants are available to not-for-profit, community-run festival and event  organisers, as well as RSL clubs. Grants are given to contribute to the cost of running local events which reflect local identity and interests.

Types of events supported through this program include community festivals and events, art festivals and events, cultural festivals and events, as well as agricultural shows and major events

Community Wellbeing and Support Grant Program

The Community Wellbeing and Support Grants Program helps to establish new organisations, projects and services. It also funds initiatives that improve residents' health and wellbeing, support opportunities for volunteering, as well as those which help to build the capacity of community groups, projects and programs to be sustainable.

Community Wellbeing and Support Grants Program funding categories are:

  • Seeding grants to support the cost of starting a new organisation, group, club, program, project or service.
  • Volunteering grants to help create volunteering programs, train volunteers or promote volunteering opportunities.
  • Small change grants to assist with a range of ad hoc costs that cannot be met through other funding sources, such as buying small items of equipment, website redevelopment, Christmas decorations and more.

Applications for both grant programs close 5pm, Friday 12 March 2021. To apply, visit www.cardinia.vic.gov.au/grants.
