Spring Reserve Roadshow events in Cardinia Shire

Get out and about in Cardinia Shire this spring with Council’s Spring Reserve Roadshow!
Hitting the road from September to November, the roadshow gives you an opportunity to explore Cardinia Shire’s reserves and get involved in a range of FREE activities.
Aimed at younger residents, the roadshow will visit a number of reserves across Cardinia Shire including Pakenham’s PB Ronald Reserve, Maryknoll Recreation Reserve, Cockatoo’s Alma Treloar Reserve and many more!
- No bookings needed – just come along and get involved!
- Remember to bring a waterproof coat, hat, sunscreen and water bottle to all activities.
- Events are subject to weather conditions and may change at short notice.
Tuesday 3 September - Cuppa with a cop, Pakenham

PB Ronald Reserve, Pakenham
Come along and explore PB Ronald Reserve’s adventure playground or sit down for a chat with a local Police Officer from Pakenham Police Station.
While our local police officers will have their patrol car on hand for the kids to investigate, Kombi Kappers will be serving hot drinks, which will be free to those attending.
Would you like to have a say in the PB Ronald Master Plan? Council officers will be at this event to get your input to help us develop the draft plan.

Monday 9 September - Construction worker activity, Beaconsfield

O’Neil Road Recreation Reserve, Beaconsfield
Grab your safety jacket and hardhat and hit the sand as a construction worker at O’Neil Road Recreation Reserve in Beaconsfield! Council’s road grader machinery will even be onsite to get the kids excited!
Come along and fly into spring on the flying fox, climb the rockwall or just swing on the multiple swings available in the reserve.
Don't forget your gumboots!
- Toilets available at Beaconsfield Community Centre (about 100 metre walk from the reserve).

Don Jackson Reserve, Pakenham
Aligned Leisure is bringing ‘Tiger PAW’ to Don Jackson Reserve, a footy program aimed at getting children active to help improve physical and mental wellbeing, as well as basic motor skills.
And if footy isn’t your thing, climb and swing in the playground or run to your heart’s content in this large reserve!

Hicks Reserve, Officer
Cricket Victoria and AFL South East are proudly supporting this school holiday event.
Bring your skills up to scratch just in time for the cricket season or get started with the basics with gear provided by Cricket Victoria.
AFL South East will also bring lots of footballs for kick-to-kick to get everyone excited for the AFL Grand Final.
Or if the playground is more your thing, come along and test your nerves on the gigantic slide with a black diamond run rating of ‘difficult’ - the second highest rating on the slopes!

Tuesday 1 October - Gardening and Geocaching, Garfield
Gardening and Geocaching

Garfield Recreation Reserve, Garfield
Council and the Garfield Community Garden invite you to get your gardening gloves out and help plant some herbs and vegetables in the community garden!
Then, after washing the dirt from your hands, come and try geocaching; an activity where an item is hidden at a particular location for GPS users to find using coordinates!
You might just find something interesting or even sail the seven seas on the playground pirate ship.
And don’t forget to head back to the gardens in a few months’ time to see the fruits of your labour!

Wednesday 9 October - Treasure hunt, Maryknoll

Maryknoll Recreation Reserve, Maryknoll
Come along and enjoy the outdoors at the newly installed playground at Maryknoll Recreation Reserve. Play along in the nature treasure hunt, which will take place in and around the reserve. You may just learn something new as you hunt around!

E Gunton Recreation Reserve (also known as Cardinia Recreation Reserve), Cardinia
Grab your safety jacket and hardhat and hit the sand as a construction worker! Council’s road grader machinery will even be on site to get the kids excited!
Come along and roar into the playground where you can visit the sculptures from tree stumps, while sliding, swinging and climbing.
Don't forget your gumboots!

Rock Painting and Hiding

Puffing Billy Park, Kilvington Drive Emerald
As part of the Vic Rocks phenomenon, Council are inviting kids to show their artistic flare and paint rocks!
Once the rocks dry, you can hide them in the park or take them home for another day’s adventure.
And don’t forget to have your rock photographed before you leave and follow the Vic Rocks Facebook page…you never know when your rock might be found!
While the rocks dry, enjoy a light morning tea to celebrate Seniors Week.

Wednesday 30 October - Halloween Theme and Story Time, Officer
Halloween Theme and Story Time with Casey Cardinia Libraries

Pioneer Way Park, Potters Grove Estate, Officer
Casey Cardinia Libraries is bringing story time to the park with a Halloween theme!
Afterwards, venture into the playground where you can climb through a tunnel or swing on the all-abilities swing!

Wednesday 6 November - Emergency Services Visit, Gembrook

Jac Russell Reserve, Gembrook
The local CFA and SES units will be visiting Jac Russell Reserve in Gembrook in their vehicles!
There will be a fire safety information session for children to learn about what to do in an emergency, along with information about services that are available to residents in the event of emergencies.
Afterwards, climb aboard the train themed play space amongst the mature trees of this lovely reserve!

Come along to the Upper Beaconsfield Recreation Reserve and learn how to fly a kite!
There will also be other large outdoor games like Connect Four and Jenga.

Come along and explore the Koolangarra Reserve in Bunyip or sit down for a chat with a local Police Officer.
While our officers will have their patrol car on hand for the kids to investigate, Kombi Kappers will be serving hot drinks, which will be free to those attending.
