COVID-19 Community Recovery Committee
The most effective long-term disaster recovery is led by communities. Those impacted by disasters are in the best position to understand and communicate what their community needs for ongoing recovery.
In response to the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic across Cardinia Shire, a COVID-19 Community Recovery Committee was formed to address increased mental health and social isolation issues as well as employment and financial insecurity.
The role of the COVID-19 Community Recovery Committee was to support community wellbeing during recovery as well as advise on community needs and priorities.
Chaired by Councillor Tammy Radford, the committee held its first meeting on 19 January 2021.
The COVID-19 Community Recovery Committee was comprised of local community members and chaired by a Cardinia Councillor.
