The right ingredients for good business

Published: 7 September 2016

The queen of culinary, Stephanie Alexander AO is key speaker at September’s Casey Cardinia Business Breakfast on Wednesday 28 September at Cranbourne Racing Centre from 6.45 to 9am.

Guests will hear from the passionate foodie, successful restaurant owner, author of 14 food titles and the force behind the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation. Additionally, in 2014 Stephanie was awarded the Officer of the Order of Australia in recognition of her work with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation.

City of Casey Mayor Cr Sam Aziz said it was exciting to welcome Stephanie Alexander to the Casey Cardinia region.

“Her stellar business success and her popularity as a food writer combined with her active philosophy of providing children with an enjoyable food education places her firmly in an exemplar role,” he said.

“Stephanie’s experience as an industry leader, ground breaker and positive change agent can inspire our growing community, across all businesses, including those in the food and beverage sector.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Cr Jodie Owen said the business breakfast was an opportunity for our business community to network and to learn from one of the best.

“Currently the food and beverage services industry accounts for 6.5% of fulltime jobs across Casey and Cardinia, and as our population grows the sector will only grow with us,” she said.

“We are also proud to have quite a few primary and secondary schools in the region participating in Stephanie’s Kitchen Garden Foundation. With the foundation’s guidance we are also looking to the future with our young people learning about growing and producing healthy food.

“I encourage those who would like to attend to book early as Casey Cardinia business events are very popular and I’m sure there will be a huge local appetite to attend this business breakfast.”.

Tickets to the breakfast are $60 per person (GST inclusive) or $700 for a table sponsorship (with seating for 10 people). The cost includes a full cooked breakfast, tea and coffee. Discounts apply for Casey Cardinia Business Group members.
