Applications now open for 2021-22 Community Capital Works Grants Program

Published: 29 January 2021

Applications are now open for Council’s 2021-22 Community Capital Works Grants Program.

Cardinia Shire Council Mayor Councillor Brett Owen said the grants program strengthens our shire by helping community groups to improve community and recreational facilities which in turn supports our community networks and enhances wellbeing.

“This program is our way of supporting community organisations to serve our community.

“Council’s capital works grants program provides vital assistance to local groups that deliver a wonderful range of services and programs.

“We strongly recommend that any groups planning to apply for a grant should contact Council staff - especially if they need support or don’t have prior experience applying for grants. Staff can help with your application and answer any questions you may have,” Cr Owen said.

The Community Capital Works Grants Program has been revised with three new categories that are more accessible to community members and groups across the shire. Categories include:

  • Community Capital Works Grants: Grants available from a set priorities list that will benefit the enhancement of the facility. Council manage project works on community’s behalf.
  • Community Capital Works Partnership Grants. Grants are applicable to a community group’s choice of project that will benefit a Council asset/facility, increase participation, and inclusion. Projects must be community managed with advice and guidance from Council.
  • Major Equipment Grants: Grants to purchase major equipment to assist in the maintenance of sporting grounds, outer grounds or large internal areas.

Applications for Council’s 2021-22 Community Capital Works Grants Program close at 5pm Sunday 7 March 2021.
