Cardinia Shire Community Summit 2019

Published: 19 March 2019

Community members and local social and health-sector organisations are invited to the Cardinia Shire Community Summit 2019.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Graeme Moore said facilitating the Community Summit is part of Council’s commitment to supporting local community members to collaboratively plan new community initiatives to address local health and social challenges, as outlined in the Cardinia Shire Liveability Plan.

“I encourage community volunteers and businesses across Cardinia Shire to join us for this year’s Community Summit. Day one of the summit is open to all community volunteers, both new and experienced, and will be a great opportunity to connect, collaborate and develop local projects with like-minded community members and volunteers,” said Cr Moore.

“Day two of the summit is geared toward learning more about health-related service provision across Cardinia Shire and employees from local social and health-sector agencies are encouraged to join us to help workshop potential opportunities in this space.”

The summit is one of the action items being delivered by Council from the Cardinia Shire Liveability Plan 2017–29. It is aimed at addressing current health and social challenges, improving health literacy, and empowering the Cardinia Shire community to work collaboratively to deliver initiatives that are complementary rather than competitive.
