Provide your feedback on Council’s plan for domestic animal management in the shire
With the community’s input, Council has developed a draft Domestic Animal Management Plan and invites feedback.
Earlier this year, Cardinia Shire Council asked residents and pet owners for feedback on various topics relating to the management of domestic pets, to assist in the development of an updated Domestic Animal Management Plan (DAMP).
Based on the survey results received, the Draft DAMP for 2026-2029 has been developed and is now open for feedback.
Every Victorian Council is required to produce a DAMP that guides Council’s animal management service by promoting animal welfare, the responsible ownership of dogs and cats, and the protection of the environment.
To ensure the Draft DAMP reflects the need and expectations of our entire community, community members are invited to share their feedback by completing the Creating Cardinia short online survey or requesting a hardcopy via mail@cardinia.vic.gov.au.
This consultation opportunity will be opened until Tuesday 16 September.
