Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about the Cardinia Cultural Centre Redevelopment

The Cardinia Cultural Centre is undergoing an exciting redevelopment.  Parts of the existing facility will be updated, new sections will be added and the existing on-site carpark will be extended.

Stage 1 of the redevelopment will include a new art space, dance/rehearsal studios, workshop, laundry, entrance and foyer, more car parking and better amenities.

Stage 1 of the project will cost $8.9 million. Cardinia Shire Council will contribute $5.9 million and Victorian Government's Growing Suburbs Fund will contribute $3 million.

Yes. In order to create our exciting new spaces, the Seminar Room, workshop and storage space will be closed. The existing sealed car park will remain open, but the grassed overflow parking area will not be accessible.  The existing toilet facilities will also close during the redevelopment and will be replaced with high-quality, temporary toilet amenities.

Yes. The Lakeview Room, Dance Room, Gallery and Theatre will stay open during the redevelopment and remain available for hire.

We will be working closely with the builders during the redevelopment to ensure that any impact to functions and events is minimised.

Yes, the café will be fully operational during the works.

No, the embroidery has been removed in preparation for the redevelopment.
There is another embroidery piece at the Pakenham Library

The current sealed car park will remain operational, however the grassed overflow carpark will be unavailable. Overflow parking is available in surrounding streets and car parks.  We recommend planning your visits to the CCC to include a little extra time to find a car park during the redevelopment.  The exciting news is, at the end of construction, you will have more sealed on-site car parking available than ever before!

Yes. The Cardinia Cultural Centre Masterplan also includes stages 2 and 3, however no timelines or budgets are currently set for these works.
